Halloween suprises

Can I just say how much I love my family! They are the best! We had our annual Halloween party and it always is so much fun. I love that everyone is such a good sports about getting dressed up and just letting loose for the night. Mom and Dad were great as always. Dad's costume took the cake, with his 'Dog the bounty hunter's wife' costume.(loved the boobs!)
Mom was also a super good sport, she has been super sick recently. You looked so cute mom!

Loved you Ray....

Oh what a great night we had! Heather and Heidi bought me tickets to see Ray Lamontagne at Saltaire. What an amazing, amazing show! I cannot say enough about it. He truly is a wonderful artist and songwriter. So much emotion and feeling in his music. Anyone that hasn't heard his music, it is so worth looking in to.He was amazing live! He sounded better live, than probably any artist I've heard.

People with this kind of talent are so incredible to me. So inspiring, makes me feel appreciative for music and for those that can make it sound so beautiful. I could have stayed there all night listening to him. And the best part about it was being there with my sisters and Todd(Heidi's husband)

Thanks again Heather & Heidi that was a wonderful present. I absolutely loved it!

Orbs & Enchiladas--oohhh scarrry!

In the spirit of Halloween and an awesome birthday present from one of my dearest friends, Meagan--we went on a 'ghost investigation' Saturday night. We investigated the Union Station, which is suppose to be haunted. We had the best time just laughing and having fun with the whole idea. It actually was pretty creepy though.

I talk big, but when it comes right down to it; everyon knows I am the biggest spook. I just kept waiting for something to reach out and grab me. You know how you can just almost imagine that you see something? I know I just kept doing that all night. I just kept looking over my shoulder, have expecting to see some scary face looking back at me.

They took us through the vaults and the underground passage ways, and retold personal experiences of workers and visitors. The rooms and the stories were fascinating.

In this picture, I thought I actually got a couple of orbs--I was pretty disappointed when the P.E.(paranormal expert) told me it was just a couple of lousy dust particles. -Dang it!In this shot I was hoping for something to be swinging from the chandeliers, but no luck either.
It was just interesting to see the old beautiful building and to think about all that has really gone on there.
Through the whole tour, we just kept asking each other "Are these people for real?" -meaning the real investigators that were giving the tours. --We had to wonder-some of them were pretty interesting-if you know what I mean. We had a great time laughing and taking pictures. Anything can be fun with Meagan, even if it's investigating ghosts! Thanks Meagan for the awesome birthday present! You're the best!

Outside my window...

There is so many things I love about this time of year. One of them, is the view from our bathroom window. I know it seems silly and this picture just doesn't do it justice; but the leaves outside are just breathtaking and they leave the most amazing yellow glow throughout our whole house. Just one of those simple pleasures for me. How blessed we are to have so many simple and amazing things around to enjoy.

How did I get so lucky to have so many fun, crazy, wonderful sisters. Heavenly Father must have known I would need all the help I could get--I am so thankful for each one of them. My life is a much fuller and happier life because of them. Happy Birthday girls! We all love you so much!!

Happy Birthday Heidi! I hope you have great day! I miss you and wish I could be with you today, sittin' around a table scrapbookin' together and just laughing about our lives. You are such a beautiful person, great mom and such a great example to me. (My secret Birthday wish for you is a permanent ticket back to Utah!) Thank-you for being such a great sister and friend to me! I love you so much and can't wait for next week!-Sorry about the picture, I couldn't get it any clearer.-you are so beautiful!

Emse? I wish...

So I am most like Esme!? Oh I would like to think, but isn't she suppose to be so calm and collected and almost regal? Nope. that's not me, I guess I can fantasize a little bit-that's what these books are about anyway right? Let me know who you are most like.

Rendezvous weekend...

This past weekend was the fall rendezvous. Cody took E,A and S Thursday night and set up camp-then Friday morning Sadie and I joined them. We had a great time with family and good friends that we haven't seen for a long time; and also made some new ones. The smoke in the picture above came from a cannon that they had fired off. I thought it looked kinda neat and eerie.

This year at rendezvous they did so many fun things for the kids. They carved pumpkins and played lots of games. Their favorite part was sitting around the fire, telling stories. For the adults they had organized shoots and lots of interesting historical presentations--'How to skin a beaver'-I missed that one and I felt bad, I really did want to see it.

Saturday night we had a potluck dinner with everyone in the camp. This picture doesn't do it justice, the food was so beautiful. Yummy cakes and pies and beautiful breads and stews, it was wonderful to enjoy all of this in the fall weather. Speaking of weather, it was just perfect for camping. The leaves were amazing and the nights were clear and full of stars. A very much needed weekend. I am so grateful for these times to slow down just a bit, to step back from busy life, and sit around a camp fire and realize my blessings. We had a wonderful time and it was great to enjoy it with loved ones. A great time was had by all.Earlier this week, Emma and Abigail's school had reserved a local corn maze for the students and their families. We had a great time running thru the corn maze and getting completely lost.

She is super creative and great at what she does. She would need a photo or photos depending the design you choose and an idea of what you would like.

Birthday Wishes...

Well we made it down to the 'Body Worlds' exhibit, thru wind rain and some crazy snow. We had our timed tickets, but we still had to wait in line just to get inside. While we waited in the line there was an image of skeleton that you could send secret messages to and they would project them onto the wall.I was pretty fun. So Steph and her crew text 'Hi Grandpa Steve'-mind you this room is over flowing with people. I guess they had to do something to keep us all entertained. It was extremely crowded, but fun! Cody hates crowds, I can always tell he is just about to self -destruct, when his jaw just starts to clinch up and down, he paces back & forth not knowing what to do with himself.-- There were hundreds and hundreds of people wanting to see the very exact thing that you wanted to see. It was nice we rented these little recorded narrators that you could hold to your ear. The recorders was just full of information, information that would blow your mind! Our bodies are truly amazing and truly a testimony builder for me. Just how it all so perfectly fits together. I don't know how in the world anyone could walk away and not feel touched in one way or another, to deny that something 'divine' didn't have a hand in the miracle of the human body! It is just so fascinating!













We had a great time going with Mom and Dad, Steph, Mike, Elliott and Ethan. Also it was great being their with Kenzie and her boyfriend, Jason-they are both so funny especially Jason with his pointy high heeled cowboy boots. He said those stupid boots were about killing him all night long. but damn did they ever look good.!--Oh Jason you are a good sport! .

We had a great time, it was great to be with family and see such an amazing exhibit. Thank-you Karen & Danny for the tickets! I loved every minute of it!

The return of Furball!

I cannot believe this but Furball came back! This bunny must be destined to be in our family. After missing for a week, our neighbor down the street came bringing her back...
Anyway I guess she had somehow gotten into their milk shed, and was in there and couldn't get back out. I am just amazed that little thing survived! I feel bad because all week just kept thinking "oh, she's gone", I kinda was being a 'Debbie Downer' about the whole thing. I just thought there was no way she could still be around. Then when our neighbor brought her back, Abby was quick to say "See Mom, Heavenly Father did answer our prayers!" And sure enough He did! Welcome back little Furball!

Well all the fruit stands here are overflowing with the most beautiful, delicious peaches.
That is one of the many things I love about living here is all of the wonderful, fresh food they sell at the local fruit stands. If anybody wants some I'll be glad to get some for you.

October in the canyon

A couple of days ago we had lunch down at the kiln with Cody and auntie Kenzie. We wanted to see what exactly they have been doing down there. Wow! Cody was right I have had no idea how much work they have done and what still needs to be done. Cody has been hired to reconstruct/restore a lime kiln that was used in the canyon in the 1860's.
Anybody that knows Cody know this right up his alley, but boy is it a lot of work. He comes home just beat. He loves working in the canyon and especially with Kenzie. I am so glad they are able to work together. They both are such amazing, creative creatures.
The kids loved feeling like they were 'helping daddy'. Those machines are huge! Kinda scary.
It is so beautiful right now in the canyon. The leaves are amazing! I bet it is the peak time to see the leaves right now. The canyon floor just looks like a red carpet has been laid out. And it is so bright with all of the golden leaves above. It is so beautiful.
The very best part of the day though, was taking Sam & Sadie on a little hike up 'Indian trail'. I don't get a chance to get away with just those two, so that was a special hour or two for me.
